Pathology: This is the wrong forum and it is not your job to tell your physician what tests to order. You physician will order the appropriate screening test available at the lab they are affiliated with. For a list of all of the available tests in the world you may want to approach a lab company or a pathology forum.

Syphilis tests: There are a number of different tests for syphilis. Some are just rapid screens that don't actually test for the germ but have been shown to be highly accurate. These are the RPR & VDRL tests. Then, there are tests for the antibody, which is the signature that the body has "seen" the organism. Those are FTA tests. Then there is microscopy to actually look for the germ. Newer tests have come out 2.
