Chemotherapy : Chemotherapy generally refers to anti-cancer treatment. Severe sepsis refers to infectious diseases that have spiraled out of control making the patient very sick, and at risk for dying from the infection. Maybe there was some confusion here talking to the doc? Chemotherapy or "chemo" for short can weaken a patient as a side-effect of treating a cancer, such that infections can arise. Hope ur OK.
