Giardia: The risk of humans acquiring Giardia infection from dogs or cats is small. The exact type of Giardia that infects humans is usually not the same type that infects dogs and cats. The usual pet shots have nothing to do with Giardia.

Giardia: The risk is very low because dogs have a different type of Giardia than humans.Incubation period is 1 to 14 days (ave of 7 days).
