A member asked:

What will it be like during my hospital stay after radiation plaque therapy?

Boring!: As ssume cobalt 60 placque for ocular melanoma, but you are hospitalized so the radiation does not expose others to the radiotherapy that you are receiving medically. Check with your doctors, but your visitors will be few, far and there for short periods to avoid their exposure, so you will be alone, and need to have talking books, music and distraction. Very few physical effects.

No Problems: Most patients have no problems associated with plaque surgery. As with any ocular surgery, there can be secondary complications such as retinal detachments, hemorrhages, or infections. There are also risks associated with anesthesia.
