Anxiety: Most MRI machines are "closed". This may increase the risk of your developing anxiety if you have claustrophobia. You may ask your doctor for a medication to help calm you so that the test can be done. Part of the pre-MRI screening involves checking for metallic implants from prior surgery. You may need to have an xray done first.

MRI preparation: Danielle, Make sure that you tell the technologist if you have any metal in your body, especially pacemakers or any surgically implanted devices. You may need to have an IV for contrast dye depending on the type of MRI scan. If you are claustrophobic be prepared to be inside a narrow space for a while. You can expect loud noises as well. Good luck!
