Ask your Gyn: I'm assuming you are asking about a forceps delivery at 38 weeks. Much of what is normal or not depends on what type of lacerations there were. If there were large lacerations requiring extensive repair to the muscles, there will be pain for 4-6 weeks after delivery. These can hurt when you cough. It would be best to ask your Ob about your specific circumstances.
