How long does it take for stelazine to work well?

Depends: Stelazine is a first generation anitpsychotic which was indicated for hallucinations and delusions. However, it is a good, inexpensive alternative to second generation meds used for bipolar and severe depression. Agitation and sleep problems usually improve in days. Hallucinations and delusions can take weeks. Dosages often need adjustment. Tell your prescriber of lack of progress/ side effect.
