Patience: Patience. A pregnancy test done correctly should give a reliable result 3 weeks after sex or 1 week after missing a period. Done too soon, a negative pregnancy test might be a false negative. Generally, there is no need to test too soon. Also, a woman is not pregnant if she gets her normal, regular period; meaning she should not need a pregnancy test unless she misses her usual, regular period.
