Numb legs: No, this is not due to sciatica. It is due to compression of the arterial blood supply to the legs in certain position

Yes: When sitting or stretching legs while sitting the nerves can get pinched from herniated discs and result in the numbness. If it bothers you especially with pain and not just the numbness, you may want to see a spine specialist to serif there is anything that can be done. Numbness in those positions probably only need core strengthening exercise therapy.
