Not necessarily: Small kidneys could be appropriately small in a small body size. Also, could be appropriately shrunken in someone who is elderly. They certainly could be shrivelled up. It is important to put the kidney function tests, age, and body size in the picture when interpreting the small size of kidneys. Also, how small is small is relative and subject to above factors. Make sure kidney blood flow is ok.
