Mechanism of action: Drug works by affecting hormones related to blood sugar levels, and their cellular receptors. Change in levels affects blood sugar. Also affects other chemicals which slows stomach emptying. Can have gut side effects. Symptomatic . May be less with small meals, low fat, avoid very high fiber foods, carbonated beverages, gassy foods.
