Quitting smoking : cannot reverse previous damage to your teeth, gums, and/or bone, but the disease process slows down significantly. Also your response to treatment is similar to someone who has never smoked. The fact is smokers are five times more likely to have gum disease than non-smokers.Quitting smoking is not easy, but you can do it.
