Mirena (levonorgestrel): If the Mirena (levonorgestrel) is in the correct place and you can tell for yourself by feeling for the strings, then it should not cause this pain. Congratulations on using this type of birth control. Hopefully having it taken out and replaced either now or next year will alleviate the pain. I have a lot of patients using Mirena (levonorgestrel) and have never had this complaint. Good luck.
