Pediatric BMI: A "healthy" weight is one that will result in a Body Mass Index (BMI) between the 5th and 85th percentile for a child's age and sex. For a 16 year old female, this BMI range is approximately 16.75 to 24.6. At 5'5", this translates roughly into a range of 101 - 148lbs. Please consult with your doctor if you have specific questions regarding your child's weight.
