No: Nuvaring is like any combined hormonal contraceptives, it prevents ovulation (releasing an egg). During the week break also known as week free your hormone levels drop and you get your period. Having sex during that period you will not ovulate thus not get pregnant. After, one week without the ring, insert a new one on the same day of the week that the previous one was inserted in your last.
