Can happen: Either spontaneously or if you are on hormonal contraception. As always, make sure you are not pregnant. If a recurring issue, then get yourself evaluated

A 31-year-old member asked:
What could cause someone to have more than one period per month?

Multiple: There are too many causes to describe here. Hormonal changes, pregnancy, fibroids, polyps, ovulation disorders, bleeding problems etc. You should see a gynecologist to sort this out if it is recurrent. It is not uncommon for women to have maybe one aberrant cycle per year that is relatively unexplainable. Good luck.

A 18-year-old female asked:
Is it possible to miss first period on the pill?

Dr. Bac Nguyenanswered

Yes, common: Spotting or missing period is quite common during the first couple months of use. It is also still possible to get pregnant during use (chance is low) so double check with a home pregnancy test. Usually after 2-3 months, period should be regular. If not, consult doc. Good luck.
