Not how works: Birth control is great at regulating the menstrual cycle in patients with PCOS. It is important to understand that they don't "fix" PCOS. They just regulate the cycles. If you are obese weight loss is the key to fixing PCOS. A doctor would not reevaluate the appearance of the ovaries after starting birth control on a patient with PCOS to assess if the follicles are gone.
