Probably infected: Old wound may be unrelated or area may have been a spot susceptible to infection. If there is pus and swelling and skin irritation this is more likely an infection that may need either drainage or antibiotics or both. Best to see a physician about this- PCP or walk in clinic would be fine. Unlikely these symptoms are due to poisoning
