Discontinuation: Tramadol is a weak pain medication that works like more potent narcotics. However, it's dependence potential in lab studies is low. Consequently it's not considered a controlled substance by the DEA. Accordingly, simple discontinuation is safe. However, if you experience significant withdraw symptoms a tapering off over 2-3 weeks should resolve that problem.

Tramadol : From normal doses it's quite easy and very little chance of physical withdrawal decrease by one pill every 3 days would be quite conservative. Of course pain control could be worse
