Birth control: Sonohysterogram means that fluid is flushed through the fallopian tubes. It takes a week from conception to the pregnancy test becoming positive. Therefore, one can never be sure that a woman is pregnant, with a fertilized egg traveling through the fallopian tube towards the uterus, which takes a week. So doctors want to take every measure to prevent accidentally aborting a pregnancy.
