Activity while preg: It is definitely ok to be physically active during pregnancy with the exception of contact sports that may injury you or your baby. The easiest delivery that i've ever seen was in a woman who was mountain climbing within 2 weeks prior to delivery. Not that i'm advocating this for all women, but it was impressive!

OK if uncomplicated: Whether, when, and how to exercise when pregnant are important concerns. An OB provider who is experienced and knows the patient best is the one who can assess risk and benefits of exertion. Traditionally obs caution patients to not start any new types of exercise and to update them on problems. Note that high-risk conditions, illness, fetal problems might require a change in activity type, level.
