Coronary ischemia: Hypokinesis suggests that an area of the heart is not thickening and contracting normally typically as a result of reduced blood supply and inadequate oxygen delivery to that portion of the heart.

LITTLE MOVEMENT: The word hypo means minimal, less, slow and the word kynesis means movement. A portion of the heart muscle may become akinetic(no movement) or hypokynetic (little movement after part of it has suffered necrosis or infarction, therefore hypokinesis results from a myocardial infarction or myocardial ischemia(not infarction) but preinfarction.
