Many reasons: It is ok to skip periods. Pregnancy is number 1 cause of missing periods. Other reasons are: Any psychological stress, Severe Physical stress/exercise, Abnormal weight loss, Some times BCPs if you do not have period for 3 months in a row please talk to your doctor to give you proper advise and necessary treatment if you need

Amenorrhea: You're most likely not ovulating, or releasing an egg. You should check a pregnancy test. If that is negative, this could be from new birth control, hormones, stress, diet or weight changes. If it goes on another month, probably worth seeing a physician.
