Depends: It depends what your tolerance to xanax and other sedative medications is. Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is an excellent medication to treat allergies, however it has a calming/sedating side effect similar to xanax. Some patients may tolerate a combination of these medications. Other people may become somnolent or even confused. You should only combine these medications after speaking with your doctor.

Perhaps your provider will offer an alternative or tell you a good schedule to take them on. Take care - allergies can be rough, I know. Also consider non-drug therapy for anxiety if possible.
