Could a hypochondriac feel symptoms due to excess worry? for example feeling the need to urinate more because of fear of having a urinary problem?

Yes: If a person were to focus excessively on urinary function they could find themselves feeling symptoms or they be more focused and noticing urinary function more.

Hypochondria & sxs: Yes. If you suffer from hypochondriasis, it is quite possible that if you've developed a worry abt UTI, you may be quicker to interpret the sensation of having urine in your bladder as having a full bladder or needing to urinate, thus creating "frequency", a sx of UTI, when there is no infxn. If ur having this sx, check with ur doc to be sure there's no UTI. If no infxn, talk abt anxiety treatment
