Likely ok: floating stools usually mean hi fat content in the stool. i would expect that you notice the floating stools after a fatty meal. your prior GI surgeries, and history may promote transfer through your GI tract, and that can also contribute to large fat content in your stool. Floating stools: Floating stools are generally not a big cause of concern by themselves if your health otherwise is OK. Most of the time, a change in diet can cause stools to float with excess grease, fiber etc.Some mild GI infection can cause some frothing and mucus in stools which will make them float. Malabsorption of fats and nutrients from diet to cause stools to float will manifest as weight loss.,
