Either…: You would need an x-ray to determine if and where the piece of glass is located. If there is a piece of glass in the soft tissue, you should try to have it extracted if possible due to the long-term risk of infection. In some cases, it is too small and the procedure to retrieve it would be more damaging than just leaving it in place.
