Rehabilitation: If you don't do sports or any activities that require twisting turning, you should do fine without surgery. I would recommend a trial of physical therapy to strengthen the quadriceps and hamstring muscles which help stabilize the knee. If you have instability to the knee, ie giving way causing falls, despite aggressive physical therapy, I would recommend surgery. An ACL brace can help stability
