Boy, that is one...: ...open ended question! Depends on the cancer and the situation (screening someone without symptoms or evaluating someone with a specific complaint). Anything goes: physical exam, labs, scans and x-rays of all sorts, or ultimately a biopsy. Be a bit more specific and perhaps we can help you better. Best to you.
