Ongoing research: Hi. Stem cells don't yet express unique tissue identifying signature proteins, so rejection is not a problem. If you can get a stem cell to differentiate and produce insulin (diabetes), become dopaminergic neurons (Parkinson's), etc, you could give a patient the cells their body lacks without have to use immunosuppressive drugs. It'll be cool when we have that capability!
