It depends.: If you have had an esophageal dilatation, whether you need another one and if so how often depends on why you had to have it in the first place and whether that disease process is ongoing. If it is a peptic stricture due to reflux, keeping the reflux under good control can ward off the need for future dilatations. Stay on your medicine! Good luck.
