Several months: Sternoclavicular joint sprains can my problematic for several months, especially if you remain active. Usually a period of rest, sometimes in a sling, for 6-8 weeks helps to decrease pain, then followed by physical therapy to strengthen the chest, back and shoulder muscles will help. The healing time from this injury can be a long process, upwards of 3-4 months.
