Antibiotics: Based on results of urine culture/sensitivity, you will need to complete a 10 day course of appropriate antibiotics like ciprofloxacin (after evaluating for any drug allergies). Additionally, you would benefit by drinking plenty of fluids. Symptoms of burning may respond to medicines like pyridium (phenazopyridine).

Treat patient: First of all, we treat the patient, not the lab result. If the symptoms suggest urinary infection and the culture shows a dominant single organism, then the choice to use antibiotics along with other methods would be clear.
