It varies: Some STDs cause painful urination and discharge. Others cause ulcers on skin lesions which may or may not be painful.. In addition, conditions such as HIV or hepatitis c, which can be transmitted sexually, may have little or no symptoms at first. If you ae sexually active or have a history of multiple parterners talk to a doctor about proper screening.
