A member asked:

What to do if i know music can make you go deaf but is there some kind of chemical?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Please clarify: Did you mean to say that "music" itself can make people deaf or that EXCESSIVE VOLUME of music, especially if you are constantly using earphones with ipods, going to rock concerts, or working around jet aircraft make one deaf? Any of that apply to you? As far as a chemical is concerned hearing impairment from excessive noise (whatever the source) is based on damage to the ear apparatus.
