Can you tell me how colour blindness occurs?

Yes: Most cases are caused by a lack of one of three types of cones in the retina, and is a genetic disorder. The most common type is red-green colorblindness and it is x-linked recessive, meaning it occurs in males every other generation. It is carried by females.
