Disabled child: If the child is totally unable to eat, as an infant, then a feeding tube is usually placed, through the nose, into the stomach. If the problem turns out to be something that is not going to resolve quickly, then a feeding tube is placed, surgically, directly into the stomach. Occupational therapy should also be a part of care. They can help your child to learn to eat, if developmentally possible.
