Yes: You can alternate pediatric tylenol (acetaminophen) and Ibuprofen every four hours. If the fever responds your child will probably be fine and likely viral. If it does not there is a higher probability of bacterial infection. If you are that afraid, call a doctor and voice your fears. Most doctors are very good people and will help you regardless of what your situation is. They just have to know.
