A few days ago i was cleaning the bathroom accidentally inhaled the fumes of the bathroom cleaner. since then i've had a very persistent and dry cough.

Allergy or virus: It's certainly possible you had an allergic reaction to what you inhaled however of you remove the cause of the cough (the cleaner) - it should resolve . Also, keep in mind that this could be incidental and you could have a virus as well.
