Options: Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) is a proton-pump inhibitor that reduces the amount of acid your stomach produces. Diarrhea is a known side effect of this class of drugs. GERD is something needing management. Some people have luck changing types in this class of drugs such as taking OTC omeprazole. Others change to an H-2 blocker such as Pepcid or Zantac.
