There are other meds: There are meds for ADHD that are not amphetamines. Modafenil (Provigil) and armodafenil (Nuvigil) are examples. These are used for ADD, ADHD, and excessive daytime sleepiness. See your physician--all these meds have risks and benefits. Your other medical and psych conditions would need to be evaluated before a new med is started.

Non stimulants: Intuniv, Kapvay, Stratera, even Wellbutrin (bupropion) are the non-stimulants that may help. Ask your doctor about these alternatives.
