NF2: Yes. At St Louis Children's Hospital and New York University Langone Medical Center. Neurofibromatosis type II is an inherited disease that causes tumors (acoustic neuromas) to form on the balance nerves of the ear and leads to deafness. Meningiomas, gliomas, Neurofibromas can form anywhere in the nervous system. Support groups can help cope with NF2. Prenatal genetic testing is important too.
