Yes...Anti Inflam: Any anti-inflammatory medication can help. Aleve, (naproxen) motrin, advil and even a holistic alternative arnica. Ice to minimize swelling can also be helpful... Yes: Dexamethasone is a corticosteroid antiinflammatory drug which reduces swelling. Most post operative pain caused by wisdom teeth removal is due to swelling. I routinely give dexethasone IV prior to the patient dismissal. It can be taken orally as well.
