Not always needed: Not all miscarriages require a D&C, particularly early ones. Doing a D&C entails risks, and if the pregnancy is early enough, that may mean D&C may entail more risk that the chance some tissue may be left behind. It is a good idea to wait 2 months after a miscarriage to try again though.
