Too many: For one you need to get it treated by A dentist or a hygienist, next you need to brush and floss regularly and use a mouth wash, then you need to follow up regularly with your dental office. And avoid bad habits such as smoking and sipping sodas and of course minimize your sweets, intake.

Seek prof care: There's no effective do it yourself remedy, pill, poultice, homeopathic, or salve. Inflammation is sign of gum infection. Assuming disease has not progressed to point of gum/bone loss, a professional cleaning followed by daily thorough and complete oral hygiene (follow Dentist or Hygienist's instructions conscientiously) will prevent recurrence.
