A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are potential: dangers in combing central nervous system (CNS) depressants. Both opioids and benzodiazepines are CNS depressants, and when used together they may produce what are called "synergistic" effects - where 1+1=5. It also highly depends on the dose. The risks of overdose is much higher in patients who on opioids and benzos, as well as with alcohol. If these are prescribed to you, talk to the doctors.
