Use correctly: Birth control pills must be taken every day to work. If you are missing pills you lose the contraceptive effect and you will trigger irregular bleeding. Emergency contraception will cause temporary cycle disruption and spotting. If you think you are pregnant take a pregnancy test. Consider an IUD for birth control in the future.
