Can a 17 week pregnant woman hurt her unborn child if she gets a temperature of 102 degrees?

Depends on variables: The temperature by itself is not likely to cause any issues in fetal development at this point, but the cause of the fever might. Something localized like a strep throat, can produce fever but the germ will not enter the blood and not hurt the baby. Some viruses will enter the blood and infect both at the same time, with effects that vary with the type of germ.Talk with the OB.

Get seen, treat fever: I would definitely keep the temperature less than 101. Take an anti-pyretic (like acetaminophen) and call your doctor to be evaluated.
