Vertigo: Are you deaf in one ear only? What caused you to lose your hearing at age 24? Did you ever get a diagnosis? These are very relevant questions to determine if the new vertigo is related to the old deafness. If the deafness was purely noise-induced, then the vertigo is unrelated. Ménière's disease causes vertigo first, then burns out the hearing - in the exact opposite order. Go to ENT.

2 different problems: The recent onset of vertigo is probably not related to the deafness. Vertigo may be peripheral (inner ear) or central (brain). There is one entity described over 20 years ago called delayed endolymphatic hydrops. It is usually a viral infection of the inner ear that may have occurred 8 years ago and has been reactivated. See an otologist.
