A member asked:

Can you tell acurately if a baby or young child has high blood pressure?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes,of course: Blood pressure, even in infancy and certainly in older childfen is actually important and I do it as a routine. However, it needs to be interpretred by a physician that understands the value of fhe test. They have distortions of blood pressure that are very different from that seen in adults. The changes reflect the normal or abnormal activity of the autonomic (automatic) nervous system.
